A solar PV installer firm based in Yorkshire are the first company in the UK to start an advert campaign during peak television viewing times.
Last night ‘Eclipse Energy’ aired its first advert in the Yorkshire district ahead of ITV’s beloved soap Emmerdale and they have plans to proceed with the TV Campaign.
The Managing Director of Eclipse Energy, Chris Cash, told Solar Power Portal (the one-stop-shop for solar power information in the UK) “We have got some good spots booked including Coronation Street, we have paid for 35 spots but I believe it will take a couple of campaigns to get it going.
“We don’t expect the phone to be ringing off the hook, realistically if we can break even in the first month we will be more than happy. Perhaps a few more campaigns in we’ll start to really see the benefit.”
Mr Cash added that he welcomed the signs that the sector was becoming more proactive at targeting the public.
“The reality is that it is down to the industry not the Government to get the message out there that solar energy is a good investment and people should not keep complaining about the drop in the Feed-in tariff, it’s done. . . now it is time to move on. The message is clear and the more of us that tell it the better. It all helps the industry. If people had a better understanding of solar they would buy it all day long.”
Nottingham based company Spectrum Energy who are specialists in the supply and installation of large scale solar PV and wind turbines, also tweeted last night that their new solar PV TV advert will be making its first appearance next month and to keep your eyes peeled!
It is pretty clear that the UK solar industry is growing and with these TV advert campaigns it can only get better! Relating to what the Managing Director of Eclipse Energy said, solar energy is a good investment and it is up to the industries to get the message out there not the Government.
