Since the feed in tariff ended in March 2019, an export tariff was brought in its place. Your energy company will now offer an export tariff, where you get paid a small fee for any excess energy you send back to the grid.
To gain the export tariff, you will have to have a smart meter installed at your property. This can usually be arranged through your current energy supplier. If you need any assistance, we will be happy to help.
However, the export payment per kw is approximately a third of the buying in price. Meaning it now now more beneficial to add battery storage to your system.
Batteries will allow you to store excess energy created by the solar panels to be used at a later time. This will increase you savings as batteries will further reduce you reliance on the grid.
